Sherri received her Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Ecology from Western University, and her Master of Science in Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Sherri is a professional member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers. Sherri accepts extended health insurance that requires either a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Family Therapist (FT) designation.

As a Clinical Family Therapist, Sherri provides compassionate, client-centered counselling to individuals, couples, and families of all ages, developmental stages, and socio-economic groups. Sherri treats clients who seek help managing stress and anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, addiction recovery, relationship reconciliation, separation, divorce, blended families, positive parenting, career issues, and work-life balance.

Sherri helps clients learn to identify and manage their problems, develop effective communication strategies, change negative thinking and self-sabotaging behaviours, improve relationships, increase self-esteem, self-compassion, and overall sense of well-being. To do so, she applies a range of strength-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused brief therapy, narrative therapy, psychoanalytic approaches, and other collaborative therapies.

As a Professional Home Economist and active member of the Ontario Home Economics Association, Sherri brings specialized education and training in positive parenting, family resource development, budget planning, housing, social justice issues, and client advocacy to her work in assisting families enhance their daily lives.
